John,

I recall that once or twice you have mentioned a particular "mic in to usb out" device which accepts a single XLR mic, has an inbuilt preamp and ? phantom, and provides reasonable quality ADC in a compact barrel housing.

However, I can't for the life of me remember what it was called...

Could you (or another HR member with a better memory than mine) provide the details?

Cheers, Paul

I recall his recommendation because I thought it looked interesting.

It was the CENTRANCE MIC PORT PRO.

I filed away John Willet's link because it looked like a solution I could try in the future.

The Icicle looks interesting, but Bobbsy gets the blue ribbon! Twas indeed the MicPort Pro.

Someone was asking me about a reasonable quality single mic solution for spoken voice recording, and I could picture the device John had flagged, but the name was gone.

Thank you, gentlemen!

Paul
