ATR2100 USB Volume and Audio Interface?

I currently own an ATR2100 Dynamic mic. When recording or skyping, I notice that sometimes my mic is a little too quiet but I cannot raise the volume any higher. Is there anything I can do about this?

I also noticed that the mic came with an XLR cable. I know that a dynamic mic does not need phantom power, but would having an audio interface improve the sound quality?

Probably, but at the very least you'll have more control of the input gain.

USB Mics are very limited in their capabilities. You're bumping up against one of the limitations.
