are those $40 SkullCandy headphones worth it?

They are not as good as real microphones as it turns out...but you can plug them into an input jack if you wanted to...Id have to ask you why though.
 
Not for monitoring I wouldnt say so....

However I use them for my ipod and I like them WAY BETTER than the
ipod plugs.

Music listening in general. I have some small little plugs that nice comfy in the ear.
