Hi,
I 'm planning to some home-recording on my G3 Powerbook (400 MHz and 192 MB RAM). I don't want to use the internal harddrive for recording, because I already learned that it's better to keep recording software and audio files seperate from the other stuff (which fills almost all available discspace anyway). So I 'm looking for a way to connect an external harddrive and an external audiocard to my powerbook.
After having done some research I tend to use Firewire for both hardrive and audiocard. I will need a PCMCIA-Card then, too, because I do not have Firewire on board.
Has anyone made some experiences with firewire audiocards and/or harddrives? I haven't seen a firewire audiocard yet. Are there any available and if so, can anyone recommend one?
Another thing is: Are Firewire PCMCIA-Cards fast enough to provide the necessary speed? Especially when both the harddrive and the audiocard are connected to it?
I hope that someone can answer some of these questions.
Thank you so far,
McMac
