Apogee Rosetta question...

I own a Rosetta AD48 that I upgraded to a 96. I have been looking over the manual, however, and discovered a bit of a discrepency. It seems that in one spot the manual says that the S/PDIF (coax and/or optical) can be used in the higher sampling rates only by using the "Single Wire" mode (whatever that means). However, in another part of the manual, it states that S/PDIF is not recommended for the highr sampling rates at all.

I called Apogee about it, and the fellow that I talked to seemed to be unsure himself.

Does anyone here have any experience with this unit? Especially, recording 96 bit with the S/PDIF?
