Apogee Duet - Insrument IN and Quicktime - Mono

Hi - I have my Apogee duet set up with my instrument in line 1 of the duet and I am recording sound and video with quicktime in real-time. Using the single input I am only recording on one channel IE I only get left or right depending on which input I use 1 or 2 - in other words my output is mono on a left of right channel. Is there anyway I can remedy this?

Perhaps Quicktime has an option to specify input channels, the Apogee Duet manual has an example of how that works using Garageband. But if Quicktime does not offer that option, I think you'll simply have to convert the output to mono when exporting your recording to a specific file format, either from Quicktime itself or using some other software.
