Folks:
I've been running a combination of a 2496 sound card, XP and both n-Track and Cakewalk HS2004 on a Celeron chipset. After a major disk failure, I'm back up and running with all programs reinstalled, but now have a persistent problem that I think is related to settings with the soundcard.
In n-Track, the audio input for tracks is coming from both the direct in and whatever is in the headphones. In Cakewalk, anything recorded has an echoing signal just behind it. This all leads me to believe something in the soundcard monitor settings needs to be re-set.
My undying gratitude and a beer the next time you're in Austin await anyone with the answer so I can get back to making music.
