Anyone notice these at Musicians friend?

It's a classic

Rust,

It's a classic all right. I don't think it's a reissue. I think they never took them out of their catalog. Just sometimes they were backordered a lot.

Please correct me anyone who knows the actual scoop.

I have two 545s, one with xlr like they sell now, and one with a three pin connector that screws onto the case.

I think it edges a 57 out as a harp mic. I have an SM56 too. I would have to say of all three, more similar than different.

On the Flying Hungarians album in progess I use the SM56 on the guitar cab all the way through sometimes with an EV RE11 on another track and the 545 on harp for one song. I used my SM57 on snare.

Putting on live music outdoors I am much more likely to grab the 57.

Thanks,

Hairy Larry

I think sometimes they were backordered for years at a time, but I believe you're right that Shure has always listed the 545 and IIRC the 565 as being current mics. *shrugs*
