Anyone know where you can buy ADAT parts?

The original Mr. Nice Guy
I'm looking for replacement idler wheel tires or complete assemblies for the blackface version of the ADAT (both early and late versions of the blackface), and Alesis doesn't appear to sell parts anymore, and MCM electronics is out of stock.

If you know of a company or service group that has ADAT parts for sale, please post who they are and how to contact them. THANKS!

try a search on shuttle sound............that's a long ago memory, I think that's what they were called

Thanks for the lead... I found their site and Emailed them to see if they (or anyone they know) sell ADAT parts. I'll post any relevant info that I receive.

Anyone else?

This guy might be able to help. Don't be put off by his pic or site. He is a very well-respected audio repair expert. I have found he responds pretty quick to emails.

Hey - anyone that wears a cowboy hat with a star on it is cool in my book! Looks like his staff is still trying to earn their stars! ;)

I'll send Eddie an Email and see what he says... I never thought about just buying parts from him! He is truely THE mega tech!

Eddie replied right away, and suggested that I contact Alesis/Newmark (Connecticut) directly to see if they sell any of the ADAT parts.

I took his advice and Emailed Newmark's parts department...

Their reply :

Hello Kid -

Yes, I'm familiar with the Alesis ADAT units. The correct idler tire from
our stock is our part number IT-18, and it sells for 75 cents each. It is
the same size tire as the discontinued 32-1495 from MCM. We do have them in stock.

As I understand it, the Alesis brand name was all that was purchased at the
time of bankruptcy of the old company. That is why the new Alesis doesn't
have parts for the old Alesis products. In addition to their ADAT's, Alesis
had a significant line of keyboards and other products, none of which have
any support any longer.

The IT-18 tire is not listed on our website. To order online, click here
http://www.studiosoundelectronics.com/manualentry.htm and enter the part
number and price manually. This will enter the part into your shopping
cart. Then proceed to our online checkout.

Sincerely,
Frank Fendley

Looks like Newmark isn't supporting any of the ADATs. Here's the reply I received from Alesis/Newmark :

===============================

Hello. Sorry for the inconvenience, but that model is discontinued, and parts are no longer available. I have a number of a company called Pro Digital that may be able to assist you. 610-353-2400

(Due to the high volume of incoming email, please attach all prior correspondence.)

Please note that parts are non-returnable
