Anybody Using An Alesis MultiMix?

So an Alesis MultiMix 8 FireWire is a 8 in FireWire interface. With rebate, it's $250.

Anybody got experience with one of these?

I haven't used one before so I don't know what they're like, but I did see it and I have been strongly considering buying one! Hopefully someone who's used one can shed some light on this product.

Alesis won't list any specs for the pres which makes them suspect.

The Lexicon Omega looks very interesting, too...

I have a 16 usb. Works decent. Firewire can only be better. I say go for it. I would.

Yeah I definitely want to get a Firewire interface and I'm looking at either the MultiMix 16FW or the Mark of the Unicorn 8Pre. I do like the idea of having an actual board so can get that tactile feel - but I hear such nice things about the MOTU....

I should add that the price has been cut down to $199 new, so used should be anywhere from $100~$150 for a four in with two good pres interface.

I am using a Multimix 8 USB, and it works fine. Plus getting it for 50 bucks really was a decision maker.
