Any soundfont makers? (James Argo Im looking at you)

I've got several toy & cheap keyboards I'd like to sample for a quirky idea I've got.

I'm a FruityLoops user, and have VSampler, which I think is rather hard to assign keys to, and DR-005, which is a designed for drums, but works as well. However, both of these take up alot of CPU.

I have the FruitySoundfont Player, as well as some VST SF players. I know that Vienna is availble, but Im not sure if this is just for editing, or for creation of new soundfonts. Plus I cant find a download link, and I dont have a SB Live in my computer anymore-although I can reinstall it, no problem.

Any advice?

Thanks
Chris

Wow, Chris... I kinda missed this thread :o Sorry to take that long, fella... :)

Well, first of all, I don't sample my own sample that much. With bunch of free resource available on the net, I thought downloading will save my time alot :) But if you like to, it's always be a good idea to try :)

As far as I know, Vienna works only with Creative's card. I've heard some alternative to Vienna, but honestly, I haven't intended to try it out.

If you like "realistic" kind of soundfonts, go this link...

To look for free ones, just go to Free section with links... all worked pretty good.

It's too bad they closed thesoundsite.net but I found this site is very good alternative...

Thanks for the rad links, James

And for everyone's info: Vienna does not work with windows XP, and its not important enough to me to switch back and lose all my extra RAM options.

I guess VSampler wins out!

 ummmmmm.............I use Vienna all the time, and I run XP. So, I gotta say it does indeed work!! There may be better programs available to construct soundfonts, but I personally kept trudging through Vienna until I learned how to use it. I actually like it now!!
