ANY P-90 LOVERS OUT THERE?

Absolutely THE SOUND!!! LP Specials, Jrs, Studio Gems!!!
Just listen to the crunchy rhythm of any Replacements or Neil Young.
As I said in a post back a few months, P100's are the guitar equivalent of New Coke.

P-90 noise

yeh, they are a bit noisy.....I've only tried the P-100's once,so I couldn't make the judgement. But I've owned alot of P-90 equipped guitars (Jrs.,Specials,'52 goldtop),plus I've added some to guitars like Les Paul Deluxes (fits right in!).It's one of those trade off things like regular strat pickups. For a real treasure chest of P-90 tones(besides any Mountain album) listen to The Who,Live at Leeds.Wow!

I liked the p-90 sound in the epiphone casino I tried out. I haven't really played anything else with them. anybody ever use a p-94 as a humbucker replacement?
Aren't The Who on the Simpsons premiere?

I love the tone of my P-90s on my ES-125 tcd through my '54 tweed Deluxe. This has been my main rig for almost six years now.

In fact, Eddie Cochran of "Summertime Blues" fame love P-90's enough to have one installed in the neck position of his Gretsch 6120.

Tweed Deluxes!

Aaahhh,Daddy-O....another tweed lover (hence,my name Tweedville). Is anything sweeter than a tweed Deluxe...or simpler? It sounds like you have a TV front...mine is a wide panel.P-90s and tweed........good recipe.

Anybody try the Epiphone Wildkat yet? They have those chrome dog ear P90-type pickups in them. I tried the guitar in the store and loved it (as well as the pricier ES-295 Epi), and they sounded better than the Gretsches I A/B'ed with them. The only things that kept me from buying one were (1) The Wife, (2)Xerox stock in the dumper, and (3) Wasn't sure that Epis are all that reliable. I know no one can help me with 1 and 2, but does anybody out there love their Epis?
