Any 'good' Linux audio and MIDI software?

Spyware and viruses are driving me away from Windows, but I'm wondering if there's any acceptable digital audio editing and MIDI sequencing software yet available on Linux?

(My definition of 'acceptable' excludes Audacity and Jazz++...)

Start here: http://linux-sound.org/

Take a closer look here: http://ardour.org/
...and here: http://www.rosegardenmusic.com/

If you want to try these things without actually installing linux, go download the ISO for the bootable cd here: http://download.agnula.org/1.1/1.1.1/demudi-live-cd_1.1.1.iso

That should give you enough to decide if you want to go for a full blown linux based DAW.

Linux is a bitch.....I am still working my way through it, and by no means is it as easy as Windows. Nothing's as easy as DC'ing an a executable file.

It's got potential. It's getting easier. But it's not there yet.

It makes me laugh when people bitch about how "difficult" Windows is to use. THey have no idea how easy they have it.

Thanks Moonrider - Ardour is much more along the lines of what I was talking about.

Stop using Warez and downloading stupid freeware search toolbars for IE then!

I have been using free anti-virus and spyware detectors for years and have yet to have any kind of problems.
