antares auto tune

i just purchased a roland vs880ex today and am ready to start my solo project. I really am interested in the new rack mount antares auto tune. My voice is not bad, but i have always had a hard time staying in key when I am really inspired. I end up having to go back and re-record vocal sections that are sour, and there are usually alot of spots, and I can never regain the original feeling. I was hoping that the auto tuner would help save me time, and let me feel more freedom when singing and recording vocals, so that I dont have to worry about going of key so much. Can anyone give some ideas and opinions if the antares auto tune would work for me. It is a little pricy for me at 700$, and I want to make sure I csan get good use out of it with my situation and my roland 880. Thanks for any comments.

It really does work. Very well. I don't have the stand alone unit, I have the directx plug in and I couldn't imagine life without it now. I hear the rack mount unit is great though.
