ok i've got a new to the internet but oldish tune for you. Its just piano, i don't like the piano sound at all on my synth, yamaha cs1x, but it'll have to do for now. This has seemed to be popular with my family , that doesn't really say much though!, this isn't really my style of music and it's the only piece like this. i've found my style with my instrumental metal piece i posted a few days ago. the performing isn't too hot (even for such a simple piece).
But anyway have a listen see what you make of it. it is called "emotional piano"

I liked the piano sound better on "Emotional Piano" than on "Demo", which I downloaded from your other post.....I really didn't expect to hear any kind of piano sound at all from the way you described "Demo"..somehow, (this is probably just me) the term "metal" doesn't exactly conjure up piano sounds in my "things to do" list....but I loved the tune, just didn't dig the piano....

"Emotional Piano" is my fave, though...nice and moody, well played, not show-offy....good mixes on both tunes, too....your compose well...vocals would be cool for "Demo"...and maybe a different keyboard sound, maybe even organ.....hmmmmmmm..would that be goth metal?.....gibs:D
 
cool cheers for listening. I used the same piano sound from my keyboard for both pieces, but i guess they bin effected by different ur effects that i used. It's not a very good piano sound.

I would say that metal does have pianos in it within certain genres of metal. but the problem is a one of catagorising it especially on lycos, although it was my description aswell looking back!, if you got it from the lycos site, then they don't have any more specific genres than rock-metal , i think it is if i remember correctly. At my mp3.com site, they have better genre catagories so it is under, instrumental metal, until i get some vocals for it. If you listen to nine inch nails they use pianos, i quite like tha sound myself, it was also the inspiration for the whole piece. I wrote the piano bit first and then built everything around that. I don't think pianos are widely used in metal though.

Thanks for the comments on emotional piano, I wasn't sure whether this forum is a good place for that type of music, it seems to be mostly, blues/rock, but i'm glad you like it.

thanks again loads, i'm also working on a new tune. In an instrumental industrial metal style WITH NO PIANO! so i'll post that up some time here.
