Another Clipping Problem

Hey guys, I'm a newbie so here it goes:

I get a "pop" sound whenever I cut and paste. I tried to smooth out the transaction explained in a book I bought, Build Your Own PC Recording Studio by Jon Chappel, but it doesn't go away.

What are some other ways of smoothing out pasted clips. It usually happens with the bass tracks.

the best thing to do is make sure your cutting the waveform at a spot where it is minimal in size (more silent). You can do this by increasing the size of the track so it is really big and visable. Then stretch the waveform and look for a spot (where you want to cut it) that the wave is almost down to nothing.

You're getting clicks because the cut is at a spot where the waveform has sound going on. With practice and a careful eye you will be able to spot good cuts spots in no time.
