Yes I wouldn't discount it altogether . I think what happened was people like tascam saw a market for portable "sketchpads" where the computer largely took over multi tracking . Granted they make more serious "traditional" digital multi tracks in say 24 track. I just felt it was a great shame there wasn't more options at 8 track. It's all relative . Today 8 track seems like nothing but in reality it's actually quite a lot . It's double what the UK had in 1967 and look at the sort of albums coming out then . Also consider I'm a solo item I'm not even a band .I feel it's about re calibrating perspective . If youre an old woman walking 100 miles at the side of a highway and she gets in a car for the first time in her life doing 40mph her perspective is that she's racing into the future .meanwhile the car passing that doing 100mph wonders what car like that is even doing on the road . It's all relative . Where does it end
