Hey guys, I'm in the market for a rack mount headphone amp. I've read most of the posts relating to the choices out there. I had my heart set on a Carvin H400. There was one on Ebay last night, new for $75 with a free pair of Carvin H40 headphones. I was going to jump on it this morning, but someone beat me to it. 
Anyway, I'm still very interested in that unit, but I've come across another, the Alto HPA6 seen here: http://www.directproaudio.com/product.cfm?directid=13538
I'm gunshy of Behri stuff and Behri type stuff, due to QC issues. I just had to take a hit on a Behri ADA8000 because of faulty grounding creating a hum. I've got two Behri compressors that when using as an insert on a Presonus Digimax LT are creating a nasty hum. I don't know that I can foot $300 for a headphone amp right now, and I'd like to trust the Carvin build quality, but the Alto looked interesting.
Anybody had any experience?
