At Yoshi's tonight with Alan Pasqua on keys, Jimmy Haslip on bass, and Chad Wackerman on drums. Fantastic show. Pasqua is a terrific soloist, just bursting with wonderful ideas, played with great phrasing and feel -- a great foil for Holdsworth. Haslip was having a blast and playing his ass off, as was Wackerman. They'll be there Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights for two shows each night, for anyone in the Bay Area that can go catch it...

Nice! I saw Holdsworth a few months ago with Jimmy Johnson and Wackerman, and they knocked my socks off. Glad to see Pasqua is still playing with him here and there. Don't know Haslip, but he must be of high caliber to be playing with Allan.

Yeah, Haslip's a fairly famous session player

but I wouldn't have thought of pairing him with Holdsworth. Glad it was cool.

Don't know Wackerman, but I'm not a drummer.

I think Holdsworth and Pasqua are a killer combo. Wish I'd seen them live.

Now I've got to dig out my New Tony Williams Lifetime 'Beleive It' cd. Man I love that!
