I've been thinking of getting a sound module. It will be played through a keyboard and recorded onto an 8 track TASCAM. I need good piano sounds as well as horns and strings. Does anyone have any thoughts or comments on this unit. Currently selling for 499.00 USD.

I have a QS8 and think it is a pretty "solid" unit. Not the fanciest, but built well with reasonable sounds. There files do not have Q. It doesn't have so many bells and whistles that it is hard to program. Freeloader makes it easy to save your patches and soundbridge makes it possible to add samples, as well as the Q cards which have samples. I think the sounds were recorded at 48K. The Q series is still around because it is a good value.

I would say you could do worse.I have the original Quadrasynth and I still use a lot of it's sounds 'cause they work well in amix.Cheers!
