Alesis I/O information neded (trigger to midi converter)

does anyone here have any experience with this thing?

does it work as a trigger to midi converter?

appearently it's much cheaper than the Roland TMC.

that being said, i really need a cheap trigger to midi solution.

i don't really need more than 2 channels either. maybe even just one.

It is a trigger to MIDI converter. So therefore it will work as one. Also comes with BFD lite which is a good place to start for drum sounds. The Roland however will be better , and Roland's new triggers are meant to be really good. dDrum triggers are also good bits of kit.

actually i'm planning on hooking it up to my sp-404 via midi to use a pd-8 or something similar to trigger some background noise in a new live song that we're working on right now.

can i transpose the midi note created by the alesis trigger i/o?
