Alesis D4 noise....

Hi:

I have an Alesis D4 Drum Module. When I bought it a year ago the only thing that didn't function was the display, but I could handle that.

It sounded perfect and responded perfectly to my playing.

Then suddenly it began to act strangely.

When I first turn it on it functions perfectly, but then the sound begins to crackle in some pads and slowly it becomes unplayable.

Does anyone has experienced this with Alesis D4 or other Alesis gear ?

Maybe the problem is easy to correct since when I turn it it works perfectly is just that slowly it becomes bad.

I discovered that it had to do with heat building up in some component on the D4 because when I brought it to my workplace, where air conditioners keep offices very cold, the D4 sounded perfectly at least for a considerably longer time.

SOMETHING STRANGE:

When I brought it home it sounded bad , because of the heat outside I suppose.

Then, I did the following, put it in a box and got it into the freezer for 5 minutes.

RESULT: It sounded perfectly for all the time that I kept it turned on ( 4 hours ).

What do you think is the cause of malfunction ?
