Besides the light, is there a difference?

I just picked up a black one cheap. What does the switch do, mine does not seem to move, but the mic woks fine. It's missing that presence peak adapter it comes with, is that really worth having?

This is one mic on this board that people either like or really hate.

On my first couple of listens, it sure seems on the bright side.

It's an On/Off switch (batt/p-pwr)... and the adapter is a little round plastic pattern converter thingy... that's a pain in the rear to change quickly.
