AI w/ 8 preamps or AI and separate pres for around 1k?

Hi Guys,
Looking to get back in to the game a little bit. I downsized a while agao from a Digi 002r + DMP-3 to a Presonus Firebox. I'm looking to get an AI + 8pres or an AI with 8pres for around 1k. I can go a little more but if I can get something with more bang for the buck, I'd be happy. Here are some contenders. Any suggestions?

Yea, I've heard mixed reviews. I see Guitar Center has the 896HDs on Clearance for 550$ right now though.
