advice needed: converting a strat to 12 string

hey all

Something I've contemplated...now I know that you can buy 12-string necks from places like Warmoth, as well as corresponding bridges. The rub is this: all the 12 bridges I've seen are hardtail types. I have no idea if these will work with a strat body routed for tremolo as most are. I don't suppose anyone here has tried to do a conversion like this...? Any other pitfalls I should watch out for?

cheers

Find a good repair person to do the conversion, because it is essential that the block to fill in the trem cavity fits perfectly. The new bridge ends up getting screwed into the new block, so it has a fair bit of tension on it.
