Is there a piece of gear anyone knows about that will take multiple optical inputs from 2, 3, or 4 sources, and put them into one pipe, so I can use two or three different preamps that get piped in to my DAI by ADAT?
I've been mulling over equipment layouts in my mind. My DAInterface is a Motu 828mkII that I generally run at 96khz. It has a single optical ADAT input that will take 8 channels at 44.1/48, or 4 channels at 88.2/96. I've found a few preamp units that I'd like to invest in as the days go on and the money flows, including a few with optical ADAT outputs at 96khz. One in particular, the Maudio Tampa, is but a 1 channel preamp, which is beautiful, but if I decide to use it optically, I'd prefer to be able to use 4 channels of ADAT, not just 1. Any thoughts?
