can anyone tell me the differences between xt20's and lx20's? are they far superior to the old black face adats?

the black face adats go for pretty cheap on ebay , would it still be a good buy. i have no experience with adats but was thinking of maybe buying one to play around with. would there be a large gap in performance between the xt model and the black face model?

The XT 20 is much nicer than the older black face ADAT's as far as features go. The shuttle speed is WAY faster, and it offers many more "convenience" features. The biggest reason to buy an XT20 is that they are much newer and ADAT's are very maintenance intensive. Personally, I would not buy an ADAT with all the new stuff on the market. However, if you really want to buy and ADAT, I have three of them and a BRC remote I could sell.
