Acoustically treating my room.

Ok we have bult a room within a room in the shed using 13mm drywall and "soundproof insulation" yes I know it's not going to soundproof it, dad was fooled.

Anyway this isn't about sound escaping I'm over it I don't care anymore,. now I'm after some acoustic treatment (on a budget) the room is reverby as hell and i'm going to be using it for recording and mixing.

We were thinking of using carpet, and still are but I thought I'd get some of your opinions.

The room is

3.2m
4.5
and is 2.4m high

so it's about the size of a bedroom.

Carpet will only take the high frequencies out of your room, leaving it muddy/boxy/boomy. You need a bunch of 75mm or thicker mineral wool, 48 kG/m^3 is a good density. Here's a bit more
