Acoustic Panels... Audimute blankets... Acoustical foam... help?

I am trying to do a little bit of cheap sound deadening in a small apartment room... (about 14' x 15' x 9') with sliding mirrors parallel to each other and god knows what other acoustical problems... the reflections make vocals sound metallic almost and I really need to do something about it.

Given the following options which would you choose? The G K acoustical panels particullarly interest me because they claim to absorb equally over the frequency spectrum. If you have any better suggestions, please let me know. I can't make the room ugly as I am sharing it with my girlfriend.

Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.

id say the first one, but what about making your own? Owens Corning 703 rigid fiberglass wrapped in fabric will do a better job than any of those......

Thanks for your response..

Where is this fiberglass purchased at?

Also, what about the blankets in the second link... those seem like they'd be very portable and easy to set up and take down...

What about a combination of one or two of the things in the first (or I can build my own) and one order of the second thing?

With sometihng like taht I could create an artificial room out of the sheets (8' X 8') and set up one of those panels on a stand to slurp up any additional sound...

This is a joke - never been tested - they ADMIT it's never been tested - and you have no way of knowing anything about it's acoustic values.

Not 1/2 bad as far as results go - at least what you see is what you get - and it has lab reports to back it up.

Foam N’ More & Upholstery, Inc doesn't give any data to back up their claims - so I really can't comment.

i have those blankets. seem to work fine. for killing reflections atleast.

I'm thinking of buying a set... would you recommend it for the price? How do they do on reducing sound transmission?

Thanks for your replies guys.

audimute

I reccomend it, I got a couple of sets and it works great.

I also purchased a set of the mega clips to go with it....it makes it really easy to put up when I need it and take it down when I'm done. Give it a try
