About to make a purchase real soon...Question for hardware users

Hip Hop and R&B Studio:

My Daw is an Athlon XP 1700, Delta 44
Mic and pre:Studio Projects C1, VTB-1
Monitors: Event 20/20

With 1800 left to spend should I get

A. Emu PK6 with a mophatt chip and a MPC 2000xl

or

B. Yamaha Motif 7


I'm going to eventually get it all within the next 6 mths to a year, I just have enough to get the motif or mpc combo at the time.....

I've only play'd around with the Motif's in the stores but I own a MPC. If my RM1X dies I'm gonna cop the Motif. I don't like my MPC like that. MPC's are dope and all but really are just souped up meat and potatos sequencers with a hellifide phrase sampler built in. The Yamaha's all have some nice tricks built into em. I've only seen one cat out of a bunch to complain about his Motif. His complaint was about how hard it was to learn. I've used it and dude must've been a retarded.

I think the Motif's are better gear for ba computer setup because of the USB and Mlan connections. Motifs also probably will do scsi sample tranfers (might be wrong bu i know the MP doesn't).

Don't just take somebodies word for it though. Best bet is to try em out. Good Luck.
