Aarrggh-Anyone ever changed a capstan belt??

I think my TSR-8's capstan belt is gone. I went to record some guitar today and when I pressed record-nuthin'. It will fast forward and rewind ok and when the tape is strung up it just whirrs and the capstan doesn't spin anymore on its own so I'm pretty sure the belts off/broke. I'm about to take it apart for a look right now to check.
 
Panic averted...it appears the belt just came off. Is that normal? It's in good shape still far as I can see, everything is squeaky clean inside. Oh well. Hope it stays "fixed".
 
They don't normally come off unless they are stretched beyond spec. It will likely come off again and is probably slipping. When/if it slips off again it’s defiantly time for a new one… about $8.00 from Tascam parts.
