He's either joking, or he's talking about putting a pencil across the front of the mic to avoid pops. It has absolutely nothing to do with getting rid of bleed.

I've never seen a mic with a fro before. Pretty rad! You might be able to market that as a budget pop filter.

Thanx for the replies. I have tried many times to educate my band mates about simple stuff. I learn as I go, if I don't know I find out. I send links to them all the time. I don't know if it is a machismo thing or what. It seems like just because they have played bass or guitar for several years, they automatically know everything there is to know about any piece of gear that you can stick an xlr or 1/4" in to. The new issue will be this new pa we are getting, that will be very fun. be ready for some posts on that one.

Well, I guess if you hit someone over the head with it, they'd bleed less than they would if there wasn't any padding on it. Try it on your bass player....repeatedly.

As long as you don't get any mic bleed on the new PA it should work just fine.
