A little advice

I got an instrumental that id like a little criticism on. before i work on it any further and take it in and rap on it i want to make sure i get it sounding as crisp on my end first as possible.

Sounds a little muddy to me. Not as much upfront punch as I would like. But I aint worked with hip-hop much. (if you mastered this then try taking a slight wide cut at around 200Hz at mastering). although im thinking its the sources (samples) that make it a little muddy.
What programme did you use?
Getting a good sound from this type of recording is all to do with the samples you have.
If you have good samples and u know what you are doing then its hard to go wrong.
Ive had some muddy experiences with Fruity Loops but thats mostly from the samples ive had to work with.
Ahhh how many times have I said "samples". Sorry!
