A Hammer Falls on my Midi plans

I've about to buy an RME Hammerfall - I need MIDI to sync up my sequencer to my keyboard. SO should I buy a standalone Midi interface or a cheap SBLIVE Value or similar?

I won´t trust the Soundblasters midi interface,
the best is a dedicated multi I/O midi interface for
the serial port, seems also to be more futureproof, cause you seem to be up for quality.
By the way what kind of converters are you going to use?

OK a dedicated midi interface it is - thx.

I'm gettin the AEB 4/I breakout box to start with as I only record synths at the mo. When I get a vocalist sorted I might try stretch to the RME 8 I/O but it's a bit pricey.

You a Hammerfall man too? If so, what converters do you use? Any tips to get the most out of the card?

Hi klytus,

I have the smaller one, the DIGI 96/8.
As a ADDA converter I use the mindprint Diport, it has two mic inputs with great sounding mic pres, like the Envoices.
It goes up to 24bit 48 kHz and it has a unique mixer, but it´s enough for the moment, maybe later I will try the andipro which I heard sounds better than the rosetta.

I use the En-Voice with digital option for Vocals. I am very happy with it.

Before buying the midi interface make sure that there are no conflicts with your Software dongle.
