880 display

I've got a couple of 880s that I sync together. They are great except for the lack of back-lit displays. I know the manuals say they should sit flat but it would sure be helpful to be able to tilt them a bit to make the displays for readable. Is that an absolute "no-no"? Any ideas? Thanks

You have some 880's from back when I bought mine. The newer ones (880EXs) are back lit and a bit tilted.

There's no big prob with tilting them a bit. The HD is laptop-style and can handle it fine.
