8 simultaneous tracks ....???

my latency was only a few hours there...

Yeah 90 mS latency is fine. Latency never use to be an issue, but now with software mixing, it's pretty critical.


ASIO is a Steinberg thing. It has been licensed out to other companies like Logic/emagic. Your right though, it will be a Null variable. At some point.
 
steinberg seem to have quite a few choices to choose from with software. Well , maybe a lot of them are specific programs for a specific purpose , right? Do they dominate in the audio software market? Ive always been a custom to logic audio , but it seems pretty hungry , cpu that is. Cubase seems a little less but still direct x plugins are a killer.. Direct x doesnt have much to do with direct x plugins i heard... is this true , cos that guy in the driver naming department should be sacked then shot!!!(to avoid a workers compensation claim!)
