499 tape

I'm using 499 tape on my MS-16 Tascam unit.
456 is recommended for the machine, but I'm
really having great results. Anybody have any
thoughts about the difference in 499 & 456 ?
Any pros or cons ? How about bias settings ?

The 499 tape is capable of handling and extra 3 - 4 db in level which you can use to gain extra signal to noise or extra headroom - your choice.
