4 channels with preamps please

I'm trying to multitrack the drums into the computer for as cheap as possiple.

so I need some preamps before I plug any microphones.

let's say, I plug my old tascam porta-2(it has 4 channels 6 inputs) to the awe-something soundcard, pan some of the mics to the left and some to the right. (the answer must be "try and see") Then I will have 2 channels going on.

the tascam looks too shitty to be sold. so I think I will keep it till I die. so I have 2 pre-amps for now.

is there any multitrack soundcards with built-in preamps? (I guess that will be an expensive choice)

anyway, 4 tracks will be enough for me, what do you offer for shopping?
 
that thing is for 500

I guess I can buy the delta 1010LT and enough preamps for that much. which one would be better?
 
you can get the 1010lt for $329 at DigitalProAudio and the Audio Buddy for $79.....that would give you 4 channels of preamps plus 4 other analog inputs free......

Digital Pro Audio has the Direct Pro for $459.....

youd be maxed out at 4 with the Direct Pro but youd have better preamps, better converters, etc.......also, onboard DSP on the inputs (compression,reverb,and 3 band EQ)
...it also ships with Cakewalk Pro Audio 9........
