2ND Hard Drive

Hi,
I just picked Logic Pro and a MAc Pro a couple of months . Just realized
I should have a second HD to run audio while my internal software runs logic. Having trouble reorganizing my songs already recorded to the internal
drive. All i did was copy the songs onto my external HD. However, I don't
think I did this right . I think the audio files are still playing from the internal drive. Can somebody please inform if there is a way I can check to see if the
audio files are playing from the internal drive in Logic. Also any advice on setting up this 2nd drive would be appreciated .

Well you said you already copied them to your external, so why would you need them on your internal as well?
 
I always keep backups. Either on CD/DVD or on a second HD. Never hurts to have more than one copy of any song file.
