Hi everyone. posting once again...

i'm planning on getting a 2nd hard drive..
I'm asking if anyone could help me decide, since I don't know much of firewire.. all i know is that i have a 1394 firewire port.. i'm not sure about the difference in 400 and 800 and what my computer can handle..

Specs:
Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit
Pro Tools M-Powered 7.4
2.1 GHz
1.87 GB RAM

here are my budget options

glyph internal 250 GB

thanx

I like Seagate and would agree with that choice. While there is convenience of mobility of an external drive, the internal will be faster. I'd check Newegg.com. You can get a Seagate SATA II 1TB for $140. And a 500GB for $75.

I'd use an external for backups. There, speed isn't as much of an issue.

I've had too many Western Digital drives fail (besides their rock-solid old 6GB) to even consider them anymore.
