I can't decide whether to buy 2 Heil PR30s or a Heil PR40 and a PR30.
I have some nice sdcs, ldcs and dynamics, but I'd like a pair of large diaphragm dynamics like these for utility use.
Mainly I'm thinking of using them on toms and amps, but I hear the PR40 is good for kick and might be handy for loud vocals.
Has anyone tried either of the mics on these sources or snare? How do the marketing claims of the PR30s being good as overheads hold up in real life use?
It would be good if they were a handy back up set of room mics.
Any opinions or experciences with either of the mics would be useful to hear.
What would you do in my situation?
