hey guys, I know with audio recording it's good to have 2 hard drives... 1 for programs and stuff and one for audio recording...

a couple of questions;

1. when it comes to Laptops, does this still apply?

2. is it possible to get 2 harddrives inside or laptop or does one have to be external?

thanks

I think there are a very few "custom" laptops that have 2 hard drives, but for the most part, yes it would have to be external.

cool, I'm assuming firewire would be the best option then. does it matter which hard drive is used for recording (external or internal)?

I'm thinking it would be easiest for me to get an external 7200rpm hdd for recording as and a 5400rpm hard drive for system/program files, is this recomended?

thanks

I use firewire. Use the internal for the sequencer/recording program, and have it put the wav files on the external hard drive. That should net you the best results with the lowest ammount of wear on your drives.
