attached is a mic comparison test, I'm playing my Danelectro 12 string through a Vox VR30 with an Orange PPC112 cab loaded with Celestion G12H speaker.
The audio is going through a Rupert Neve Designs 511 mic pre straight into the Audient iD22 direct input which bypasses the preamp section and goes straight to the AD convertor.
The tracks were normalised in wavelab to make sure that they are exactly the same average volume, also recorded using wavelab.
There was no EQ Compression or fx of any kind, just the raw guitar track.
4 different mics were used,
which one do you prefer?
mic A, B, C or D?
