If I had my choice I'd sell my neighbor's dog and get the Apogee Rosetta 800. Failing that, any of the above suggestions should be comparable.

You might have already made your decision, but another option would be the Roland R-05. I just sold mine on eBay for less than $150. You can do everything with it, lots of sample rates, good sound.

That really sucks...apparently you're not alone. I read some things about possibly hooking up the Juno-G to a computer and controlling it from there. Would that be a possibility?

Hi All, I currently am working with a Dell 530s (dual core, 1.6 GHz) that has a USB driver issue causing the CPU to run at 50%. I also own a lenovo x61 (core duo, 1.6 GHz), but it sometimes seems to overheat and shut down at random. I'm wondering if it's worth it to salvage either of these...

Have you tried switching between 16bit and 24bit mode? Not that either should be producing that kind of distortion, which sounds like a bit-limiting effect is engaged. I'm also assuming if you plug the guitar into anything else the sound is perfectly clean?
