    pedalboard snake DIY

Hey all, I've been lookin' at these pedalboard snakes at www.pedalsnake.com and I was thinking I'd try my hand at putting one together myself, for the fun of it. I want to have a power line (for a oneSpot adapter for the pedals), lines for the fx loop, a dual footswitch (channel switching and...

    Carvin Legacy II!

https://www.carvinguitars.com/products/single.php?product=VL2100 Hmmmm....its finally out. Looks pretty interesting, with three channels, clean, clean boost, and lead. Ben Fargen was involved in the design as well. We'll just have to wait and see how it is. Alright, who's gonna be the first...

    reading music and timing

You might even go so far as to getting a practice pad and some sticks, and do some basic snare drum exercises. This approach has helped immensely for a singer friend of mine.

    What do you recomend

 Last time I checked, the RNC was around $175. Unless you mean a pair of them with the fancy rack tray, but that's still only $400 or so. If I remember correctly.

I am having trouble getting comfortable with cheap ass set.

You might also try setting up your drums starting with the snare as the center. Then you put your kick over to the right (yes, off center), and keep going from there, with the snare as your center point. It looks a little funny at first, but you'll get used to it. My drummer is a rather lanky...

    Valve Jr. Head Cabinet Question

Hey there, I'm planning on getting a Valve Junior Head within the the next week or so, and I want to put together a cab for it. I want to build a 2x12 (maybe a 1x12, depending on the the price of the speakers I want) that I could use for the Epiphone and with my other amps, a Crate Vintage...

    distortion pedal?

Maybe try an overdrive pedal? It is hard to say without knowing what sound you're going for. FWIW, scrubs' answer is the best, but if you're limited in funds, there may not be much you could do except wait, or try out pedals. Still, if you can at all, save up for a good amp.

    Power chords/Drop D/.. I need help!

If you're looking to be able to play complex chords with some distortion, you might want to try an overdrive pedal, or something like that. In my experience, it really keeps the definition there, but you still get some pretty good crunch to it. $0.02 :D

    bass Distortion?

I would say just go try some out with your bass, different people will like different distortion tones on the bass. I like the Big Muff for bass distortion. I would definitely take Scrub's advice and have a clean tone in there as well, or even try something with a crossover and just distort...

    Blues guitar

I love the blues stuff. Maybe not so much the real "true" southern blues (although I still enjoy it some), but stuff like Stevie Ray really appeals to me. You could say maybe just blues-rock is more what I like.

    True Bypass Strip Construction Questions

Ah, okay. Thanks for the clarifications, ms & outlaws. I get it now. I did mean to use resistors on the LED's, I just didn't draw them. oops. :o Thanks! :D

    True Bypass Strip Construction Questions

Thanks to everyone for the replies. Thanks for the schematic. That is just what I was looking for. It is more applicable than the one that I found (link fixed, btw) which was for converting a pedal to true bypass. I think I will add a resistor there before the LED. Sorry if I misled you...

    True Bypass Strip Construction Questions

Hey all, I am planning on building my own pedal board, and I saw the true-bypass strip idea at http://www.pedalboards.com (scroll down a bit, it is there) and I would really like to build one of those to go onto the pedal board. I am planning on including LED's for each bypass loop, and will...

    Radio signal in mic!

I've got AKG C430's. They work pretty good as drum overheads, but that's really about it. I tried them on acoustic guitar, and I didn't particularly like them. They did work pretty well as just a stereo pair for location recording of my band's live gigs. They also worked pretty good for...

    Distortion Pedal for Direct Recording

I think that the biggest argument against recording direct in with a distortion pedal usually involves a signal chain like this: guitar----->pedal------>mixer/recorder/audio interface and that will pretty much always suck, IMO. I think that having the V-AMP in there will help a bunch compared...
