hey Davey I don't know about the answer to this but I see this alot on the Cakewalk company board. Do a search for 'skip' 'skipping' and you'll see alot of talk about it. In my limited knowledge, I'd say its related to playback buffers and Latency. but really go look at this place. Good luck...

OK thanks- but in terms of chaining the two, as far as their algorithms/innerds go, can we say the Sonitus and the Cakewalk are quite different, different enough so that I'm not duplicating the effects? This is what I'm looking for. I had a feeling the Sonitus was better quality on its own...
