Digital "Ticks" when using Apogee and UA Apollo

Hey there. I'm getting an occasional tick when using an Apogee Rosetta 800 and an Apollo Firewire interface. Recording at 44.1 / 24 bit. The channels that are coming in through the Apollo are clean but everyone once in a while the signal coming in through the Apogee (ADAT light pipe smux...

Solid wood flooring versus affordable laminate flooring

Hello! I am finishing up a small all-in-one mixing recording room in my garage. For the flooring I'm planning on putting some sort of wood flooring over the concrete slab. I have a lead on some nice hardwood for $210 / sq', which brings me up to $714 for my small 340 sq ' room. The other...

    Too much deadening? Reflective materials?

I have built a small garage studio that's about 11' x 16' x 8' tall. The floor is padded carpet and the ceiling is canvas over rock wool. The walls are a mixture of wood bass trap panels and patches of drywall. There are 2 insulated, soft bass traps in the corners. From the recordings that...

Heavy duty stand for a Rhodes beast?

I have seen a few stands that look like they might be good for a Rhodes (150 lbs) but I am not sure if they are crap or not. Anyone have a recommendation for this situation. I have the legs but they are heavy and take a while to screw in in a pinch... thanks.
