Why do you use soundclick, and why whole compositions

Sorry but it seems to be stating the obvious since most people are home based recording.... Why do you post your whole composition with changes, breakdowns and all. You do ofcourse realize that buy changing the soundcard recording input to wav/midi/cd that anyone can steal your beats by...

    Sampling Methods

since vocals tend to be in the center you could suppress the surrounding frequencies but i have never tried please let me know how it turns out. your never in copyright infringement untill you attempt to market something or perform something that you do not own the copyright to.

i want to put all my cassettes onto cd's

it would take a long time record them track by track which requires manual supervision, which leads to boredom, which leads to inconsistency. it would be easier to download them from a share site. but if he/she wants to record them track by track, if they pm me i will send them software to do...

    vocal compression

i have a behringer composer pro xl and i dont give a !@@@! what anybody says dbx isnt that much better. slightly more control test drove both, and for the price definitely the behringer. it ran me about 150, but that is the two channel model, the one channel is 60. shop the net, most music...

    Poor quality cables

well digital would be optical. if you have optical inputs and outputs on your devices yes it will make a great difference. but as far as your guitar, keybaord or any instrument, high quality cable has to do with the type of wiring and insulation used. high quality cables are ofcourse a thicker...

XLR or 1/4" ... Balanced or Unbalanced ?

xlr balanced are best but there really isnt a difference when recording on an analog device so typically recording to tapes unbalanced, digital id go with balanced. and also do you record to adobe or the boss. not to knock hardware recorders but you really have so much more control with software.

i want to put all my cassettes onto cd's

ok dude if you really want to do that first off, everything everybody else said is correct, but the line in isnt always the default recording line. it could be set to mic depending on your sound card, and you do realize it will take days to do that if you really have that much stuff. heres a...

    Poor quality cables

You should always use the shortest cable possible, but you do not want to be to close to your interface, especially if youre recording onto a computer causes nasty distortion, and feedback. high quality cables are always best for recording.

    vocal compression

software compression/gate/limit/excite is a post processor it only works after the vocals are recorded tryed it a million times, but compression works in realtime, and software just cant match what youll get from processesing before you record. you can get a decent compressor for about $50, you...

    What to do for vocals?

i record vocals everyday. i have my own studio and work with a lot of clients locally, record the vocals in mono, make sure the vocalist is singing, rapping, screaming or whatever directly into the mic as not to loose intensity. and there is a magic black box that gives vocals fullness...

    Dbx 166xl. What's the problem

ok the boss portable studio right, this is what u do, i dont think the 532 has phantom power, so if you are using a condensor mic you are going to need a power box to run the mic thru to receive power. local music store should have one. If just a regular shure sm57 or any dynamic mic: plug into...
