I've noticed that most, if not all, of my dynamic mics have this. I'm talking about that foam that's stuck to the inside against the wire mesh that you can see if you unscrew it and look inside.
Is it simply a windscreen?
Added to muffle the high frequencies?
What would happen if, say, I...
Another REALLY cheap alternative: buy extension cables for your monitor, keyboard, and mouse and put the main CPU case in another room. No noise at all.
I bought 20ft extensions for my entire system for less than $35 a few years ago.
Of couse, your keyboard and mouse need to be PS2 as USB...
I have used my 1212m with an older Alesis ADAT deck, basically using the Alesis as a A/D converter to get 10 inputs into the 1212m.
Haven't tried 192Khz recording yet...
It's actual main purpose is monitoring and/or amplifying my electronic drums, but I do send some vocal mixes through it as well. I tried some 12" wedge style monitors, and they didn't have the low end I wanted for some of the drum sounds.
I have this which I use as a floor monitor. I want to replace the tweeter as it sounds crappy (very brittle and not very loud).
I was thinking of this tweeter and this crossover , but I'm not sure if it would work good.
I'm fairly new to using crossovers, and I've been trying to read up on...
I ended up keeping two of the singers in the same room on SM58's, spaced about 12 feet apart. The 3rd singer I put at the top of a stairwell on an AKG c3000. Seems to have worked ok. Thanks for the suggestions.
What would be the best way to position 3 vocalists that would be singing into seperate mics in the same room (for recording to 3 individual tracks)?
For example, should they all be in a line? Facing each other? Facing away from each other?
I have an AC97 S/PDIF optical and coax output on my computer.
Is it at all possible to get multichannel surround out of either of these, or is it strictly stereo?
I thought I heard once if you tell it to output data, surround is somehow possible...
Several years ago, I was at a recording session of a concert band. The engineer (Bruce Leek) had a small black box inline on each of the microphones. There was about 20' of cable, the box, then about 100' of cable back to the control room. He said they would really make the mics sound good...
Are you talking about the ac/dc converter cable that powers the mixer? If you are, the answer is it's a 3 prong round plug, with three wires going into the desk.
Yes, but some mics the hum seems louder.
Hums with a)dynamic mic connected, b)only 1 condenser mic connected, and c)without anything connected to any channels (though the hum is quite faint then, but I still notice it appear as soon as I flip the phantom on switch).
Tried switching outlets...
What do you do when you have a song where the bass guitar is playing at the same frequency(hz) as one of the toms on the drums? So, every time the drummer hits that tom while the bass is playing the same note, it clips the mix, while other times they don't play at the same time, it sounds...
