Has anyone out there tried replacing the tubes in ART preamps. I just wonder if you could hear any improvement by putting in some nice Electro-Harmonix tubes or J/Js. Any thoughts......

You might try an acoustic guitar sound board pickup. It picks up the vibes of the top of the guitar and turns it into a signal for an amp or you can DI it into your equipment. Generaly they dont sound as nice as a simple miced guitar, but if your looking for that sound go for it.

I do have a pair of Rode NT5 and I love them. What you put into them is what you get. Very accuratly reproduces the sound of acoustic instruments. Well worth the $300.00. I Didnt notice any harshness that a few other people complained about. Great mics, dont even think twice about getting a pair.
